Valuing a fundamental connection to its community, JCA engages with local artists and artisans, neighborhood groups, and civic entities as a participant in the public life of the city. Founded in Louisville, Kentucky in 2009, JCA actively contributed to the evolution of its East Market downtown arts district neighborhood. Relocating back to Southern California in 2011, JCA has transferred this community involvement to its Sherman Oaks and downtown Long Beach neighborhoods as well as to the larger Southern California region.

JCA offers a full range of professional services from project inception to completion including project design, construction documents, feasibility studies, code research, permitting assistance, and construction observation. As the firm’s principal, Jennifer Charles brings over 20 years of architectural experience to each project type ranging from residential and commercial to institutional and landscape.
